2018 International Cyclocross Rankings

Mathieu Van Der Poel Remains Untouchable

After two World Cups plus several races between Christmas and New Year's, it'sbeen a hectic two weeks of racing for those over in Belgium—including an influx of North American racers, both men and women.

From Waaslandcross to World Cups Namur and Zolder, DVV Verzekeringen Trofee races Azencross and GP Sven Nys, to Cyclocross Bredene and Telenet Superprestige Diegem, the racing has been fun to watch with true Belgian CX conditions: Cold, muddy and rainy.

On the men's side, it's become more and more apparent that Mathieu Van der Poel is going to be almost unbeatable going into Worlds, while his main competitor Wout Van Aert is happy to be scooping up any wins that he can.

Stephen Hyde showed he's back in business with some top 20 results, typically finishing top American in the races he jumped into. It's great seeing him back in form and to see American riders in the mix.

(Before we dive in, a reminder that the rankings are based on UCI ranking, racing trends this season, and plenty of subjective intel, wild speculation, Instagram Stories and industry gossip.)
