2018 International Cyclocross Rankings

Mathieu Leads Wout and Toon, But Lower Rankings Rattled

The international men are easy to rank in the top two or three, but beyond tha, it's a washing machine-level of shake-ups every week. In Europe, there are a solid 30 racers who could all jump into the top 10 of most races, while in North America, a few key racers are solidly taking top 5 spots consistently.

Mathieu van der Poel is inargubaly still at the top of the pile when it comes to the world-wide cyclocross scale, but Wout van Aert is right behind him. Toon Aerts, after doubling up in the U.S. World Cups with big wins, is still struggling to find his place in the winners circle in Euro racing. Though, he did ride to a resounding victory at Koppenbergcross.

Meanwhile, Pan-Ams and the European Championships, both with separate U23 races, shook up standings even more.

(Before we dive in, a reminder that the rankings are based on UCI ranking, racing trends this season, and plenty of subjective intel, wild speculation, Instagram Stories and industry gossip.)
