It’s cobblestone season in international cycling, and even though the world’s best riders will be crossing into France this week, they’ll be just across the border from the cobblestone capital of the sport, Belgium.
Paris-Roubaix 2026 will take them from the traditional starting point in Compiègne, through the lush fields of northern France, over 30 challenging sections of cobblestone and into the Roubaix Velodrome.
The race long has been known as the “Hell of the North,” and there’s no reason to expect anything different Sunday when the storied history of the event gets another exciting chapter.
There will be one key change this year, however, and that will be the running of Paris-Roubaix Femmes on the same day. Since the inaugural event in 2021, the women’s race had been held Saturday, and the men took the spotlight Sunday.
Paris-Roubaix 2026 will get underway at 4:50 a.m. Eastern and is expected to end at approximately 10:50 a.m. EDT. Paris-Roubaix Femmes will kick off at 8:45 a.m. Eastern and conclude at noon EDT.
Both will be broadcast live on FloBikes and the FloSports app for viewers in Canada, with coverage beginning at 4:35 a.m. Eastern. Fans in the United States can watch the race on Peacock.

Given the race’s nickname, it’s no secret that Paris-Roubaix is one of the world’s most grueling one-day races. What it offers in difficulty is matched in prestige and tradition, and all of that has earned the race a place as one of cycling’s five Monuments.
Paris-Roubaix is the third Monument of the year and comes a week after the second one on the list, the Tour of Flanders.
Paris-Roubaix 2026 is the 123rd edition of the men’s race, which was held for the first time in 1896. Until 1967, it kicked off in Paris. In the years since, Compiègne has been the host. The velodrome was the finishing location from 1943-1985 and again from 1989 to the present.
This year’s route will take the riders on a 258.3-kilometer journey, with the cobbled sections accounting for nearly 55 total kilometers.
Among those set to participate in Paris-Roubaix 2026 are the top finishers from the 2026 Tour of Flanders – Tadej Pogacar, Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert and Mads Pedersen, along with other stars, including Jasper Philipsen and Filippo Ganna.
Pogacar won the 2026 Tour of Flanders, while Philipsen and Ganna won the previous cobblestone classics, In Flanders Fields and Dwars door Vlaanderen, respectively.
Van der Poel is the three-time defending champion at Paris-Roubaix and looking to become the third rider in history to win four times, but Pogacar enters France with the momentum and on the brink of history.
Paris-Roubaix now is the only one of the Monuments that Pogacar hasn’t won. He finished second last year in his debut.
Only three riders – Rik Van Looy, Eddy Merckx and Roger De Vlaeminck, all Belgian superstars – have won all five Monuments in their careers.
In true Pogacar fashion, not only is he hoping to add his name to the list, he still has the potential to win all five in one season, having claimed Milan - San Remo 2026 in March and the Tour of Flanders last week.
Belgian riders have reigned supreme at Paris-Roubaix, winning 57 times, followed by France (28) and Italy (14). Two riders have won four times, eight have won three times and another 11 have been victorious on two occasions.
As far as all-time wins in the Monuments, Merckx tops the list with 19 victories, but Pogacar is climbing the ladder. He’s now second with 12.
The women’s race Sunday will be the sixth edition, and it still hasn’t been decided if reigning champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, the first Frenchwoman to win, will participate. She would be coming off a second consecutive runner-up finish at the Tour of Flanders.
However, the field is expected to include past winners Lotte Kopecky (2024), Alison Jackson (2023) and Elisa Longo Borghini (2022), as well 2026 In Flanders Fields champion Lorena Wiebes.
The women will encounter a 143.1-kilometer route that includes 33.7 kilometers of cobbled terrain. They’ll begin in Denain and also finish in the Roubaix Velodrome.
