The 2023 Tour of Flanders or Ronde van Vlaanderen startlist for Sunday features 175 riders, or 25 teams of seven riders. They will fight, with one only able to win the Belgian monument ending in Oudenaarde after 273.4 kilometers.

The classics are here, starting with Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday in Belgium. The first big one-day race of the 2023 calendar for both men and women that starts a run-up to the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix.

The Scheldeprijs is the fifth installment of the Flanders Classics and is a unique race amongst the otherwise cobbled and hilly classics the Flanders region is known for. Scheldeprijs is by far the flattest course, all but guaranteeing a sprint finish. The high-speed course takes riders along the Scheldt River, exposing the peloton to a barrage of crosswind before turning into Schoten for three laps of a finishing circuit.

Biniam Girmay of Eritrea won the prestigious Gent Wevelgem classic on Sunday, becoming the first sub-Saharan cyclist to win a one-day classic.

The UCI Road World Championship road races in Flanders, Belgium take place Sept. 25-26. The Flanders region is a hotbed for professional cycling, known for its steep and often cobbled climbs. Both the elite men's and women's road races begin in Antwerp and feature multiple complex circuits which will give racers and fans a taste of quintessential Belgian bike racing before finishing on Leuven's Geldenaaksevest.

August marks the start of professional cycling’s official transfer period, the only time a UCI World Team may recruit riders. From August 1-15th, new pro riders and those with expiring contracts have the opportunity to sign to a new team. For any change of team between two seasons, the transfer period extends from August 1 to December 31st.
