Belgian Jasper Philipsen sprinted to his fourth stage win on this year's Tour de France with a powerful last burst on Stage 11 from Clermont-Ferrand to Moulins.

Jasper Philipsen won his third stage of the 2023 Tour de France in Bordeaux on Friday, overtaking a bitterly disappointed Mark Cavendish in a last-gasp effort after a see-saw struggle to the line.

Frenchman Christophe Laporte extended his overall lead in the 2023 Criterium du Dauphine by winning the third stage Tuesday.

Dutch sprinter Dylan Groenewegen snatched victory in the third stage of the Tour de France on Sunday, edging Wout van Aert on the line although the Belgian retained the overall race leader's yellow jersey.

The Scheldeprijs is the fifth installment of the Flanders Classics and is a unique race amongst the otherwise cobbled and hilly classics the Flanders region is known for. Scheldeprijs is by far the flattest course, all but guaranteeing a sprint finish. The high-speed course takes riders along the Scheldt River, exposing the peloton to a barrage of crosswind before turning into Schoten for three laps of a finishing circuit.

Dylan Groenewegen timed his sprint to perfection to win a mass dash to the line on stage three of cycling's Tour of Saudi Arabia on Thursday. British sprinter Dan McLay was second and Australia's Caleb Ewan came third as Colombia's Santiago Buitrago retained the overall lead by 3sec on Ewan. Ewan finished fastest but was coming from too far back to pounce for victory at the line.

For sprinters, there is perhaps only one prize greater than a stage victory in the Tour de France, the green points jersey. This summer, the world's best sprinters will once again descend upon France to treat fans to the most high-stakes pack finishes of the year.

Dylan Groenewegen will ride the Giro d'Italia, which starts the day after the end of his nine-month suspension for smashing Fabio Jakobsen into a barrier at the Tour of Poland, his team, Jumbo-Visma, said Tuesday.

Dutch cyclist Dylan Groenewegen has been suspended for nine months for causing a crash at the Tour of Poland that left compatriot Fabio Jakobsen in a coma, the International Cycling Union (UCI) said Wednesday.
