Santiago Buitrago Cracks In Final Meters Of Vuelta a España 2026 Stage 19

Colombia’s Santiago Buitrago is close to securing the King of the Mountains jersey at the Vuelta a España 2026, but he also had his eyes on a win in Stage 19 of this year’s race.
He attacked with 2.1 kilometers left in stage but cracked when he saw Eddie Dunbar ride by as they neared the finish.
Dunbar, who collected his third career win at La Vuelta, passed him on the final turn and completed the 210.8-kilomter ride with a gap of 14 seconds.
Buitrago leads Wout van Aert by 38 points in the KOM race heading into the race’s last two stages.
