This January, like every January for the past 12 years, the world's best cyclists have descended upon Australia for the UCI WorldTour season opener, the Tour Down Under

This year, however, racers are arriving amid the worst drought Australia has seen in decades. Dry conditions have resulted in months of catastrophic fires, with the country's hottest months still to come. The fires have burned over 18 million acres across every state in Australia. Towns have been destroyed, over a billion animals have been affected and 28 people have died, including volunteer firefighters.

In celebrating the start of the cycling season with FloBikes' broadcast of the Tour Down Under, it's important to acknowledge the circumstances under which the race is taking place.

FloBikes will donate 10 percent of revenue from new sign-ups during the Tour Down Under and Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race to disaster relief efforts in Australia. Join Pro between January 16 and February 2, and a portion of your subscription will support the Salvation Army Australia.

Australia's two season-opening road events will be available live and on demand on FloBikes.

The Tour Down Under is the first in a package of events for viewers in Canada, which includes monumental races such as Paris Roubaix and the Tour de France.

The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race will be available to viewers both in the US and Canada.
