In the Men’s Elite division, all eyes are on Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel. With Tadej Pogacar out of the race due to an injury sustained from a crash at Vuelta a Espana, Evenpoel is the favorite to win the Road Worlds time trial and road race.
In the Women’s events, Demi Vollering is the star to watch. The two time Tour de France Winner and 2025 time trial bronze medalist is considered one of the favorites in the road race and time trial.

Why USA Cycling Fans Should Watch UCI Road World Championships
As the UCI Road World Championships head back to North American for the first time since 2015, it’s the perfect time for US cycling fans to tune in.
There are Team USA representatives at Worlds who are expected to make a splash and compete for gold medals.
Brandon McNulty is the top ranked rider from the US, and he’s set to participate in the Men’s Elite time trial and road race. McNulty became a UCI Road Worlds Junior Champion in 2016, and has finished in the top 10 in the time trial at Worlds.
In 2026, he’s Team USA’s best shot to have a cyclist bring home a gold medal.
Don’t Forget About Quinn Simmons Too
There’s also “Captain America,” who is the United State’s best shot other than McNulty to medal at UCI Road World Championships.
He’s a former Junior Worlds road race champion and UCI Road Worlds top 10 finisher. He finished in first in the road race in the 2026 National Road Championships, and could take that momentum into Worlds.
Quinn Simmons could make a splash in Montreal, and US cycling fans don’t want to miss it.
What About The Women’s Events?
Kristen Faulkner is the only woman who will be competing in the time trial and the road race from the US.
She didn’t compete in the National Championships, but still qualified for the Road Worlds roster in Montreal.
She’s an Olympic champion and the National road race champion in 2025 and 2024. Faulker represents the best shot for the US to medal in either the time trial or the road race.
US cycling fans should tune in to see if Faulker can make US cycling history at UCI Road Worlds.
