Tour de France 2025 Stage 14 Preview: A Look Back In Time
Tadej Pogacar now leads the TDF 2025 by 4 minutes, 7 seconds, a margin that grew in the Stage 13 time trial. Can he add to that advantage in Stage 14?

After 13 stages at the Tour de France 2025, defending champion Tadej Pogacar leads the General Classification by more than four minutes, and a fourth TDF title seems well within reach, even with some tough stages ahead.
In Stage 13 on Friday, he took more time on his rivals by winning the 10.9-kilometer individual time trial for his fourth stage win of the 2025 race.
It was more proof of his versatility, which came a day after he crushed everyone in a mountainous 180.6-kilometer trek in Stage 12.
Now, Stage 14 is a tip of the helmet to TDFs of yesteryear, as the route is modeled after the same stage of the 1986 edition of the race.

While none of this year's riders would've been around to take the challenge back then, but this is their chance to find glory in the mountains of France.
But is it also an opportunity for Pogacar to once again flex his climbing muscles and add to his lead? Of course it is - that's every day for the 26-year-old Slovenian.
Pogacar now leads two-time Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard by 4 minutes, 7 seconds, a margin that grew in the Stage 13 time trial.
Even though Vingegaard turned in a performance he said was one of his best ever, Pogacar still was 36 seconds faster.
Remco Evenepoel, who was a favorite to win the TT, struggled. He remains in third place overall, but he's now 7 minutes, 24 seconds off the lead.
For viewers in Canada, FloBikes coverage of Stage 14 will begin at 5:45 a.m. Eastern and is expected to conclude around noon EDT.

Stage 14: Tour de France 2025
Riders of the Tour de France traveled this same mountain route in 1986, and the highlight of this stage is the 12.4-kilometer climb to Superbagnères, though that's just a small part of the 182.6-kilometer ride that begins in Pau.
The journey features almost 5,000 meters of elevation, with the final climb to the famous ski resort averaging 7.3% gradient, while topping out at 10%.
The last time Superbagnères hosted the Tour de France was 1989, so even though there have been some memorable moments there, it would take some work and technology to convert the highlights from VHS.
How will the latest generation of riders handle this mountain challenge?
As always, 10, 6 and 4 bonus seconds will be awarded to the first three finishers.
