Despite what could've been a breakaway win and a challenging uphill finish, Stage 13 of the Giro d'Italia 2025 ended in the most familiar of ways - with Mads Pedersen edging Wout Van Aert in a sprint for the victory.

The win was the fourth of the 2025 Giro for Pederson, who also won Stages 1, 3 and 5.

Right behind the two was overall leader Isaac del Toro, who extended his lead over teammate Juan Ayuso to 38 seconds.

Del Toro will wear the pink jersey into Stage 14, where the 195-kilometer ride from Treviso to Nova Gorica/Gorizia will feature a relatively flat start with a more complicated finish.

The stage will include a pair of intermediate sprints and back-to-back-to-back Category 4 climbs, while the route takes the riders back and forth across the Slovenian border multiple times.

Behind Del Toro and Ayuso in the GC standings are Antonio Tiberi (1 minute, 18 seconds), Simon Yates (1 minute, 20 seconds) and Slovenian superstar Primoz Roglic (1 minute, 35 seconds).

For viewers in Canada, FloBikes coverage of Stage 14 will begin at 6:35 a.m. Eastern and is expected to conclude around 11:40 a.m. EDT.

Stage 14: Giro d’Italia 2025

In Stage 14 of the Giro d'Italia 2025, the race visits its third country - Slovenia - which is home to last year's champion Tadej Pogacar and 2023 champion Primoz Roglic. This will happen about 140 kilometers into the 195 kilometers from Treviso (14th time but first since 2019) to Nova Gorica/Gorizia (five times but first since 2021).

Nova Gorica/Gorizia is a border city of Slovenia and Italy, with the finish coming in the Italian portion.

The 2025 edition of the Giro began in Albania and then moved into Italy.

Stage 14 is relatively flat, but there will be some climbing later in the day, once the riders cross the border.

After tackling a climb that will reach a gradient of more than 5%, and before they return to Italy, the riders will endure another circuit that must be completed two times. This loop includes more climbing. The Saver climb will take them to 6.4% over 600 meters.

After the second Saver climb, the riders will find themselves 7.5 kilometers from the finish line.
