The Giro d'Italia will once again finish in Rome this year after the Grand Tour begins for the first time in Albania and leads the peloton through a punishing 21 stages.
Epic Finish In Rome
Rome will host the closing stage of the Giro for the third year in a row, concluding with a flat procession stage on June 1, featuring eight laps around the Eternal City's ancient Roman ruins. The final week promises a grueling challenge across Italy's northern mountain ranges for those vying for the pink jersey.

Challenging Route Overview
The 2025 Giro features a total of 52,200 meters of climbing—over 10,000m more than last year—spanning 3,413 kilometers. Starting May 9 in Durres, Albania, the race will include three climbs en route to Tirana, where a 13.7km individual time trial will take place for the second stage. After a challenging third stage in Vlore, riders will head north through mainland Italy.
The Giro also makes an appearance in Slovenia on Stage 14, with a route from Treviso to Nova Gorica. The most significant climbing challenges will occur in Stages 19 and 20, featuring three category-one climbs and the iconic Colle delle Finestre, which includes 8km of gravel roads before reaching Sestriere.

Women's Giro To Conclude In Imola
Elisa Longo Borghini's Giro d'Italia Women title will be contested over eight stages from July 6-13. The race concludes at the world-famous Formula One track in Imola.
