As expected, Stage 12 of the Giro d'Italia 2025 belonged to the sprinters, with Team Visma | Lease a Bike's Olav Kooij taking the win, denying Casper van Uden a second victory, while Mads Pedersen finished fourth in his bid for a fourth stage win at this year's race.

It's possible the group may have another shot at the spotlight in Stage 13, a 180-kilometer ride from Rovigo to Vicenza that features some tough climbs and a final circuit they'll see twice.

While Stage 12 of the Giro d'Italia 2025 belonged to Kooij, Ben Turner quietly finished third on the day, with Stage 6 winner Kaden Groves rounding out the top 5.

In the overall standings, Del Toro maintains a 33-second lead over his UAE Team Emirates teammate Juan Ayuso, while Italy's Antonio Tiberi is 1 minute, 9 seconds off the lead.

Stage 13 of the Giro d'Italia 2025 is the opposite of the previous stage. This time, the initial two-thirds of the 180 kilometers is flat, before a series of up-and-down sections up the challenge. The whole stage is 180 kilometers from Rovigo to Vicenza. 

This stage does feature a circuit format, where the riders will cross the finish line two times. 

When its time to determine the winner, it will come after a tough last kilometer that averages 7.1% and reaches about 12%. The final climb is known as Monte Berico, which is home to the Basilica of Saint Mary.

It has been a decade since a stage of the Giro finished on Monte Berico.

Who Won Stage 13 Of The Giro d’Italia In 2024?

Stage 13 of the Giro d'Italia 2024 was the third, and final, win of the event for Italy's Jonathan Milan, who also won Stage 4 and Stage 11.

The sprint specialist edged Stanisław Aniołkowski and Phil Bauhaus for the victory, while Slovenian star Tadej Pogacar was able to maintain an overall lead of more than two and a half minutes.

Milan was the leader in sprint points at the time, and he went on to win the points classification for the second consecutive year.

Who Won The Giro d’Italia In 2024?

Slovenia’s Tadej Pogacar won the Giro d’Italia in 2024 as part of a memorable season that saw him become the first rider since 1998 to win the Giro and the Tour de France in the same season. 

He then added a win at the 2024 World Championships in Switzerland to became the first cyclist since 1987 to win the Giro, TDF and a world championship in the same season.
