Giro d'Italia 2025 Stage 10 Preview: Time Trial Take 2
Isaac Del Toro, a 21-year-old from Mexico, will wear the pink leader's jersey in the Stage 10 time trial at the Giro d'Italia 2025 on Tuesday.

Stage 9 of the Giro d'Italia 2025 was as exciting as it was dusty, as the riders trekked across almost 30 kilometers of white gravel roads in Italy's Tuscany region and into the city of Siena.
The 181-kilometer journey ended with a two-rider battle for the stage win, with Belgian veteran Wout van Aert edging the young Isaac Del Toro of Mexico in the final meters.
The 21-year-old Del Toro isn't heading into the second rest day of the race empty-handed, however, as he was able to secure the pink leader's jersey with his strong performance and now leads the race by more than a minute.
The action at the Giro d'Italia 2025 will resume Tuesday with a 28.6-kilometer time trial from Lucca to Pisa.

As Stage 9 drew to a close Sunday, there was no doubt it would be Del Toro or Van Aert at the top of the podium, but in the end, Van Aert's experience helped him deny his young rival a double triumph for the day.
Van Aert also was motivated by the desire to overcome recent struggles, including injuries sustained at the Vuelta a España 2024 and illness to start this year's Giro.
Italy's Giulio Ciccone was third in Stage 9, nearly a minute behind the leaders. Richard Carapaz and Simon Yates rounded out the top 5.
In the General Classification, Del Toro leads Juan Ayuso by 1 minute, 13 seconds. Ayuso is followed by Antonio Tiberi (1 minute, 30 seconds behind Del Toro), Carapaz (1 minute, 40 seconds) and Ciccone (1 minute, 41 seconds).
Overnight leader Diego Ulissi slipped 20 spots into 21st place and is 4 minutes, 56 seconds behind Del Toro.
The new leader is known more as a climber, and he said he's never raced a time trial as long as the one the riders will face Tuesday, so retaining the pink jersey for another day will be a true test of grit and of what the newcomer truly is capable.
