Giro d'Italia 2025 Stage 6 Preview: Another One For The Sprinters
Giro d'Italia 2025 Stage 6 Preview: Another One For The Sprinters
The sprinters will get another opportunity to shine in Stage 6 of the Giro d'Italia 2025, and Mads Pedersen is an easy favorite to win again.

There was talk that Stage 5 of the Giro d'Italia 2025 might be an opportunity for pre-race favorite Primoz Roglic or another versatile rider to ride free and take the stage because the climbing and hills along the way could slow down the sprinters.
However, if they were able to keep pace, the finish certainly was the ideal layout for another sprint finish, which is exactly what happened.
Mads Pedersen has been dominant in this year's Giro, and he took the win in Stage 5 for this third victory of the event.
On paper, Stage 6 also is meant for the sprinters, so Pedersen is an easy favorite to stand atop the podium at the end of Thursday's 227-kilometer journey, though there are many eager contenders looking to challenge him for the first time at the 2025 Giro.

Stage 6: Giro d’Italia 2025
The longest stage of the Giro d'Italia 2025, a 227-kilometer journey, kicks off in Potenza and will conclude in Naples. Potenza is back on the route for the first time since 2022, when it was the finishing point for Stage 7.
This time around, the riders will endure 140 kilometers of rolling hills and relatively easy climbs that reach as much as a 4.6% gradient, before things flatten out as they approach Naples.
And, did we mention that some of the ride is in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius - wow! The whole Giro is like a moving history lesson!
Anyway, the flat finish. That could only mean one thing - the likelihood of another sprint finish, if no one manages to break free during the route.
Either way, Naples will get to add to its legacy at the Giro, as the city has hosted a stage finish nearly 50 times already!
