After the 2020 Paris-Nice was cut short due to the coronavirus, Lawson Craddock packed up and flew home to Austin, Texas, where he sheltered through the pandemic.

Lawson Craddock had to make a rushed decision to fly back to Europe in anticipation of the season starting, but before he left he organized a motley crew of Texas cycling talent to help him get back to race shape.

The training camp got off to a ragged start and thus became known as the Camp of Chumps, a play on Craddock's annual preseason Camp of Champs.

Local talent included Colin Strickland (2019 Dirty Kanza Winner), Evan Bausbacher (2019 Collegiate National Champion), Lucas Burgoyne (Elevate KHS), Scott Henry and Gregg Ueckert (The Meteor) Beau Edwards and Elbowz Racing.
