This week on FloBikes we are celebrating all things Italian. To that end, we have compiled a ranking of the best Italian riders in the WorldTour. In sixth place is Philippo Ganna. Ganna is proving to be a very intelligent acquisition by Team Ineos. The 23 year old is the Italian time trial national champion, and in the past year has broken his individual pursuit world record twice. Ganna looks poised to be the first person to ever break four minutes in the 4 kilometer individual pursuit. Watch Ganna break his individual pursuit world record at the 2020 UCI track world championships, then go on to claim the gold medal and rainbow jersey against American Ashton Lambie. Philippo Ganna's bronze medal ride at the Yorkshire ITT World Championships cemented his dominance on the road, which he proved in stage 6 of the 2019 Binck Bank Tour. Ineos' signing of Ganna shows an investment in one of the biggest motors in the sport of cycling. Perhaps the team hopes he will grow into the role of former individual time trial world champion Vasil Kiryienka.
