Deceueninck-Quick Step director sportif Rik Van Slycke was driving the team's car during stage 3 of the 2019 Vuelta a España, as Fernando Gaviria tried to make his way back to the gruop. Van Slycke says the race jury ordered team cars to slow down so that UAE Team Emirates's Fernando Gaviria would not be helped in his chase back to the peloton.
