Warbasse On The Search for Repeat Success At Suisse And Nationals
In June of 2017, Larry Warbasse earned the two biggest results of his career. At the Tour de Suisse, the Aqua Blue Sport rider infiltrated a breakaway and then held on to take a narrow victory at the summit of an above category climb. One week later, in the rolling hills of Nashville, Tennessee, he won the U.S. Professional Road National Championship.
This season, Warbasse is trying to replicate that magical month. FloBikes senior editor Ian Dille caught up with the veteran European-based pro at Isola 2000, where he was doing an altitude camp with his friend and training partner Ian Boswell.
Warbasse talks about his expectations for this year’s Tour de Suisse— ”there could be a breakaway almost everyday,” he says— and his looming defense of his national title.
