Tadej Pogacar Abandons Vuelta a España 2026 After Major Crash In Stage 8

GC leader Tadej Pogacar was part of a massive crash late in Stage 8 of the Vuelta a España 2026, and he was forced to abandon the race, ending his chance to become the ninth rider in history to win each Grand Tour at least once each.
The five-time Tour de France champion had already won three stages at this year’s Vuelta and was leading Enric Mas by almost four minutes through seven stages.
The crash came with just over 32 kilometers left in the in the 171-kilometer stage, but the cause of the wreck has not yet been determined.
