The Best Road Bike Tires In 2020

Good tires are a must if you're looking for a smooth ride on the open roads. The best tires are fast, lightweight, smooth, and durable. While there are a lot of components that go into a good bike ride, quality tires have to be the primary focus. You can have the greatest bicycle in the world, but with useless tires you won't go far at all. And it'll be quite the wearisome effort.

Here is a list of the four best road bike tires we've found for 2020 to make your rides better, smoother, and more enjoyable:

Pirelli P Zero Velo 4S

Known primarily for its car tires, Pirelli also makes a fine cycling tire as well. Finding a good balance between rolling efficiency and puncture resistance, the Velo 4S contains a SmartNET Silica compound. This tire also excels in terms of grip, speed, and riding in wet conditions. There three different size options, ranging from 23 mm, 25mm, and 28 mm.

If you're in the market for a good-looking, reliable, smooth-riding tire, the Pirelli P Zero Velo 4S is a strong all-weather option. The Velo 4s tires weigh 220 grams and can be purchased for under $60.

Vitorria Corsa

The Corsa is a lovely looking tire that comes in 23mm, 25mm, and 28mm sizes, and is designed for performance racing. With strong rolling resistance, grip, durability, and braking, this tire does it all. With a four-layer 2.0 Graphene compound material, the Corsa is also said to be adaptable to all kinds of different riding situations. Based on the load and the situation, the Corsa operates differently on turns, brakes, and straight lines to best suit the rider.

Another cool feature of the Vitorria Corsa is that you can now also purchase a tubeless set of tires as well. The Corsa tires are slightly heavier at 255 grams, and cost in the ballpark of $65.

Continental Grand Prix 5000

Following the extremely popular GP 4000, Continental put out an updated, new and improved model which features a few new quality upgrades. Notable are the laser grip comfort technology and the Vectran braking system, as well as a tubeless tire with an inner liner that provides soft outer material while remaining airtight. This makes installation of the tires easier, and the tire stays inflated permanently.

The Continental Grand Prix comes in sizes of 23mm, 25mm, 28mm, and 32mm, and weighs 220 grams. It's also a very reasonably priced set at around $45.

Michelin Power Competition

Using the same silica-based material that the Michelin car racing tires use, the Power Competition tires are fast, smooth, and very light. They are only 23mm and 25mm sizes available, but even still both sets are exceptionally good with grip and stability, while still offering the same riding comfort as the other top competitors on the market.

The Michelin Power Competition weighs just 215 grams and can be purchased for around $45-50.

Hopefully you can use this guide to give you a good shortlist of tires to look at here in 2020 to make your rides the best they can be.
