The 2020 Digital Swiss 5 was a ground breaking event promoted by Velon in partnership with the digital cycling platform Rouvy. Due to the cancelation of the 2020 Tour de Suisse, riders were given an opportunity to race on virtual renditions of many of the Tour de Suisse's iconic roads.

Each stage was scored as its own individual race. There was no overall general classification because teams were allowed to star a different three man roster each day.

Riders with standout performances include Rohan Dennis who won stages one and five, Stefan Küng who won stages two and four, and Nicholas Roche who won the queen stage and placed on the podium in stages one and five.

Team Sunweb proved to be the strongest team at the event, placing a rider on the podium every day. Christopher Hamilton, the young Australian on Sunweb deserves an honorable mention for finishing fourth in all three of his races.
