The cyclocross season comes to a close this weekend with Superprestige Middelkerke on Saturday and Brico Cross Hulst on Sunday.

Watch Live: Both races will stream live on FloBikes starting at 6:30 AM CST.

The North Sea sand dunes provide a backdrop for the relentless Middelkerke course. The undulating and turn-intensive terrain favors the most powerful racers.

The Brico Cross series will conclude on Sunday with Vestingcross in the historic fortified Dutch town of Hulst. A new addition to the cyclocross calendar last season, Vestingcross was met with high praise from riders and fans alike.

The unique course features natural and artificial obstacles and traverses the well preserved walls of the Hulst Fortress.

End of Season Sun Shine

As another grueling cyclocross season draws to a close, racers will be rewarded with sunny weather during their final showdown. The courses will likely remain damp following a week of rain, potentially leading to a reasonable amount of drama. However racers should have a relatively rain-free run into their offseason, without any undue risk of weather related mishaps.

MVDP Eyes Thirty; Cant, Kaptheijns Set For Series Battle

Mathieu van der Poel is guaranteed the overall victory of the Telenet Superprestige Series. Likewise, Wout Van Aert has accrued enough points to secure his second place in the series, despite his absence from this weekend’s races.

The World Champion has drawn a curtain on his cyclocross season and will now begin preparations for a road classics campaign.

Van der Poel has a personal incentive this weekend. If he successfully defends his victories on Saturday and Sunday, he will finish the season with an even thirty victories.

Sanne Cant leads Maud Kaptheijns by one point in the Telenet Superprestige series. In order for Cant to secure the overall series victory, she must finish ahead of Kaptheijns. In the event of a tie, Kaptheijns will take the win and the 6,000 Euros thanks to her early season Superprestige winning streak. The women’s race will be a gripping one from start to finish. Kaptheijns is one of the fastest starters, but Cant is the most formidable rider, in the closing laps as her competitors become fatigued.

Tune in live on FloBikes starting at 6:30 AM CST on Saturday and Sunday.
