The United States will be represented by three athletes at this weekend's inaugural Hammer Series event in Limburg, Netherlands. The three-day race to crown the world's best pro cycling team opens with the Hammer Climb on Friday, followed by the Hammer Sprint on Saturday, and concludes with Sunday's Hammer Chase.

Ian Boswell (Team Sky)

Boswell is coming off a strong performance at the Amgen Tour of California. He finished fifth overall in the general classification and top five on two stages. The Hammer Climb on Friday should be best suited for his ability. Boswell is the strongest climber amongst the Team Sky lineup at the Hammer Series. Stage 1 is fairly short at just 77km, but 34km of the stage will be climbing. We'll have to wait and see what the team tactics will be at this event, but there's no doubt the race will break apart as the laps progress, giving riders like Boswell an opportunity to shine.

Gregory Daniel (Trek-Segafredo)

Former Axeon Hagens Berman rider Gregory Daniel has made the transition to Trek-Segafredo in 2017. He'll carry the USA road national champion jersey to the Hammer Series. Daniel has been busy during May while competing at the Amgen Tour of California and last week at the Baloise Belgium Tour. He'll be riding in support of a strong, well-balanced team that includes Matthias Brandle, Giacomo Nizzolo, and Jasper Stuyven.

Tyler Williams (Israel Cycling Academy)

Williams was also on the 2016 Axeon Hagens Berman team with Gregory Daniel. Williams now competes for Israel Cycling Academy. Last year, he closed his season strong finishing just outside of the top 10 in the general classification at the Tour of Alberta. The Israel Cycling Academy will be looking to take full advantage of this opportunity to make an impact against the WorldTour teams.
