It’s time for the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, and the event will be loaded with incredible talent from around the globe and across five disciplines.
All of the action will take place in Val di Sole, Italy, from Aug. 26-30, and mountain biking fans in the United States and Canada can catch three full days of competition live on FloBikes and the FloSports app (Aug. 27, 29, 30).

The age- and gender-based divisions will include riders from a variety of skill and experience levels, too, with the winner in each taking home a coveted rainbow jersey that traditionally gets worn at all competitions until the next MTB World Championships.
The 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships will continue a tradition that began in 1990, and this visit to Italy will mark the fourth opportunity for Val di Sole to play host.
The world’s top mountain bikers will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Cross-Country Olympic (XCO), Cross-Country Team Relay (XCR), Cross-Country Short Track (XCC), Downhill (DHI) and Electric-MTB.
The entry list for each competition will feature some familiar names, as well as riders who haven’t yet established themselves at the international level.
Some of the riders are even so versatile that they’ve enjoyed success in road races, cyclo-cross and gravel, too.
During the 2026 UCI MTB World Championships, there will be 16 total races featuring 778 participants.
Almost 250 of the riders will compete in multiple events, including 21-year-old Canadian star Isabella Holmgren, who won the women’s U23 Cross-country Short Track and U23 Cross country Olympic competitions last year in Switzerland. This year, though, she’ll be racing at the women’s Elite division, while her twin sister, Ava, handles business in the U23 Cross-country Olympic.
Fellow Canadian Jackson Goldstone will be competing in the Men Elite – Downhill as the defending champion and will look to repeat by conquering of the most anticipated features of the upcoming World Championships called “Black Snake.” It’s a downhill track that includes one of the sport’s most technical descents.
Goldstone has enjoyed success there before, winning the Men Junior title in 2021 and his first Elite UCI World Cup championship in 2023.
One rider who is expected to challenge Goldstone this year is France’s Loïc Bruni, a five-time Elite UCI world champion.
Unlike the Grand Tours in road racing, where the race covers thousands of kilometers over three weeks, the action at the Mountain Bike World Championships will see each event use a different portion of the Val di Sole Village.
The setup is convenient for athletes and fans, and it allows everyone to enjoy all aspects of the experience and diverse agenda without having to change locations.
