French rider Paul Magnier got back to winning ways after taking a summer break, notching his seventh cycling victory of the season at the Hamburg Cyclassics on Sunday.

The French sprinter dominated the final bunch sprint ahead of Dutchman Mike Teunissen and New Zealander Laurence Pithie for his first success in a one-day WorldTour race.

The 22-year-old benefited from a late acceleration from Mexican rider Isaac Del Toro, which eliminated his two main rivals, Italian Jonathan Milan and Dutchman Olav Kooij.

Then in a peloton reduced to around 50 riders, the Soudal Quick-Step rider was led out by his teammate Jasper Stuyven before claiming a decisive victory at the finish line.

Magnier won the Mur de Grammont Classic in Belgium in June and three stages at the 2026 Giro d'Italia before taking a break, notably skipping the Tour de France.
