The 2026 cycling season has given us some unforgettable moments across the many disciplines, and August is set to be one of the busiest months of the campaign.
Among the can’t-miss events will be the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, which will take place Aug. 26-30 in Val di Sole, Italy.
The ever-evolving event has been a staple of the sport since 1990, and this year will mark the fourth time Val di Sole will play host.
Mountain biking fans in the United States can catch three full days of action live on FloBikes and the FloSports app.

The 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships will feature five categories, further divided by age and gender, with the winner in each taking home a coveted rainbow jersey that traditionally gets worn at all competitions until the next MTB World Championships.
The top mountain bikers from across the globe will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Cross-Country Olympic (XCO), Cross-Country Team Relay (XCR), Cross-Country Short Track (XCC), Downhill (DHI) and Electric-MTB.
Val di Sole also welcomed the competitors in 2008, 2016 and 2021 and has been a frequent stop for other top-tier races.
Just a few months ago, the Giro d’Italia crossed the Italian peninsula, putting the spotlight on the world’s best road racers over 21 intense stages and a variety of terrain.
Now, there’s little doubt that the alpine landscape of Val di Sole will challenge hopeful riders at the UCI MTB World Championships, while the picturesque views delight even the weariest riders, along with the excited fans lining the course.
One of the most anticipated features of the upcoming World Championships is called “Black Snake.” It’s a downhill track that includes one of the sport’s most technical descents.
FloBikes coverage will include a variety of events for the Elite men and women and the U23 categories on Aug. 27, 29 and 30. See the broadcast schedule and the complete schedule below.
The 2026 UCI Mountain Biking Worlds comes on the heels of a historic Tour de France 2026, where Slovenian superstar Tadej Pogačar picked up a record-tying fifth victory at the most prestigious of the Grand Tours.
The other Grand Tours are the Giro d’Italia, won in May by Jonas Vingegaard and the Vuelta a España.
The 2026 edition of La Vuelta will overlap with the MTB World Championships, giving biking fans the perfect way to stay busy and entertained during the final days of the sweltering summer.
The race will take place Aug. 22 to Sept. 13 and cover nearly 3,300 kilometers, from Monaco, into France and Andorra, and then across Spain.
Fans in Canada can watch La Vuelta on FloBikes and the FloSports app, but those in the United States will have to flip over to Peacock to see if Pogačar can become the ninth rider in history to win all three Grand Tours at least once.
Unlike the Grand Tours, where the race covers thousands of kilometers over three weeks, the action at the Mountain Bike World Championships will see each event use a different portion of the Val di Sole Village.
The setup is convenient for athletes and fans, and it allows everyone to enjoy all aspects of the experience and diverse agenda without having to change locations.
Check out the course map for each discipline here.
One other difference is that riders at the MTB World Championships are there representing their home nations and federations, rather than riding for specific teams.
Though the official entry list for the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships has not yet been revealed, countries are beginning to announce who will be representing them in Italy.
