The 2026 Tour de France begins on July 4 and cycling fans are eager to watch the sport's biggest stars battle across three weeks of racing.
The iconic event will once again take riders through some of Europe's most challenging terrain as they compete for cycling's most prestigious prize.

Tadej Pogačar enters the race as the man to beat. The Slovenian has won four Tour de France titles and appears poised to contend for another, but in recent years Jonas Vingegaard has emerged as one of the few riders capable of challenging him over three weeks.
Vingegaard's credentials speak for themselves. The Danish rider captured back-to-back Tour de France titles in 2022 and 2023 and has repeatedly proven he can compete with Pogačar in cycling's biggest race. As the pair prepare to renew one of the sport's defining rivalries, it is fair to ask: Should Tadej Pogačar be worried about Jonas Vingegaard?
Why Tadej Pogačar Can't Overlook Jonas Vingegaard
Vingegaard's preparation for the Tour de France has looked different this season. After winning the Giro d'Italia and completing victories in all three Grand Tours, the Dane opted against racing in June in favor of additional recovery and training ahead of cycling's biggest event.
"He's not racing in June. Got a few days off and then he's back to his training block," FloBikes reporter Gregor Brown said.
The two-time Tour de France champion remains one of the strongest climbers in the peloton and has repeatedly proven capable of matching Pogačar in the mountains.
"Vingegaard looks completer than ever," Brown said.
While Brown described Pogačar as "the benchmark right now in cycling," he also noted that Vingegaard enters the Tour with the experience and form needed to challenge for yellow.
That combination may be enough to make Pogačar path to a fifth Tour de France title far from straightforward.
