London will take center stage at the start of the 2027 Women’s Tour de France, featuring a landmark team time trial through the capital’s iconic streets.

The race will begin in England, with the first three stages held across the country before the peloton returns to France.

Stage one will run from Leeds to Manchester, followed by a second stage from Manchester to Sheffield.

The third day will feature an 18-kilometer team time trial in London, finishing on The Mall after a route showcasing some of the city’s most famous landmarks.

Race director Marion Rousse confirmed the historic addition of the format to the race.

"The team time trial has always been one of the most spectacular formats in cycling, and we are very proud. It's a first in the history of the Women’s Tour de France," Rousse said.

Historic Moment Expected To Draw Record Crowds

Organizers expect the event to become the most attended women’s sporting event ever held in Britain.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan welcomed the announcement, highlighting the global appeal of the race.

"I'm proud that London will host this historic moment for women's cycling," Khan said.

"Londoners and visitors will be lining the streets to cheer on the world's best riders as they race through our capital before a triumphant finish on The Mall."

Full route details for the 2027 edition will be revealed later this year during the official presentation in Paris.
