Spanish cyclist Jaume Guardeño suffered serious injuries in a training crash and is receiving intensive care treatment in hospital, his team Caja Rural-RGA said on Thursday.
"Guardeño suffered a fall last Tuesday while training after his participation in the Volta a Catalunya, which resulted in a collision with a vehicle, resulting in serious injury," the team said in a statement.
"He was taken by helicopter to Hospital Taulí in Sabadell, where he is in the ICU with serious injuries and under observation."
