NCAA Division I college baseball is right around the corner, beginning in mid-February, and preseason polls have begun trickling out across the baseball media landscape. D1Baseball, Baseball American and Perfect Game have all released their preseason Top 25, and some consensus is coming together.

While the Top 5 through all three polls is considerably similar, placement is not. Notably, UCLA tops two polls, while LSU leads another. LSU defeated UCLA at the 2025 College World Series as the Tigers were en route to a national championship win. 

Mississippi State also appears near the top of all three polls, not so much based on their 2025 season, but because of an offseason upgrade in the form of former Virginia baseball coach and 2015 national champion Brian O'Connor.
