Remco Evenepoel To Share Red Bull Leadership At Tour de France 2026
Remco Evenepoel and Florian Lipowitz will share leadership for Red Bull Bora at the 2026 Tour de France, with Evenepoel skipping the Giro to target Liège.

Remco Evenepoel will share leadership duties with Florian Lipowitz at the 2026 Tour de France, he said Wednesday at Red Bull Bora's training camp in Mallorca.
The double Olympic champion and multiple world champion has joined Lipowitz at Red Bull after moving from Belgian outfit Quick Step.
"This will be the first time I share leadership in the Tour de France. That's a good thing, it's always better to have several options. We are both aiming for the ultimate goal: victory," said the soon to be 26-year-old, sporting a new goatee beard.
Evenepoel finished third at the Tour de France in 2024 but abandoned this year's edition on the slopes of the Tourmalet during stage 14. He rebounded by winning the world time trial title in Rwanda.
Lipowitz Eyes Advantage Against Pogacar and Vingegaard
Lipowitz, who took third at the Tour this year in a breakout season, said starting with two leaders would be an advantage in the battle against Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard, who have won the last six editions between them.
Evenepoel will focus entirely on the Tour de France, which runs July 4 to 26, and will skip the Giro d'Italia in May. Red Bull Bora plans to field Giulio Pellizzari as Giro leader, supported by Jai Hindley and Aleksandr Vlasov.
Slovenian veteran Primoz Roglic will instead target the Vuelta a España.
Evenepoel Skips Spring Classics To Target Liège
Evenepoel confirmed he will not race Milan-San Remo or the Tour of Flanders, two major one-day races he has yet to contest. Instead, he will aim for a third victory at Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
