Elia Viviani wins world title in his final race before retirement, while Harrie Lavreysen takes a seventh straight sprint crown in Santiago.

Italy's Elia Viviani won the elimination race at the track cycling world championships on Sunday in the final race of his career before retirement.
The 36-year-old Viviani, an Olympic gold medalist on the track in 2016 and a stage winner at all three Grand Tours on the road, has been competing at the elite level for 15 years.

Viviani also previously won two world championship gold medals and eight European track titles.
In Santiago on Sunday, he captured a third world title, beating New Zealand's Campbell Stewart in his career finale after announcing his retirement two weeks ago.
Viviani enjoyed his peak years with the Belgian Quick-Step team, where he won the points classification jersey at the Giro d’Italia in 2018, along with four of his five career Giro stage victories.
Five-time Olympic gold medalist Harrie Lavreysen of the Netherlands won his seventh consecutive individual sprint world title on Sunday, three days after securing gold in the keirin.
