Isaac Del Toro Strikes Again Solo Victory In Gran Piemonte 2025
Isaac Del Toro wins Gran Piemonte 2025 with a solo attack for UAE Team Emirates – XRG, claiming his 15th win of the season ahead of Il Lombardia.

Isaac Del Toro can’t stop winning. The 21-year-old Mexican talent stormed to solo victory Thursday at Gran Piemonte, adding yet another notch to his breakout 2025 season with a powerful attack 14 kilometers from the finish in Acqui Terme.
Del Toro, riding for UAE Team Emirates – XRG, left no doubt as he dropped rivals Marc Hirschi and Bauke Mollema on the final climb and time-trialed to the line alone. It marked his 15th victory of the year — an astonishing tally for a rider in just his second WorldTour season.
UAE Controls the Tune-Up for Il Lombardia
The Gran Piemonte served as a final tune-up for Sunday’s Il Lombardia, and UAE showed once again they’re the team to beat. After controlling the early break — which included Quinten Hermans, Jan Tratnik, and Edvald Boasson Hagen — the Emirati squad lit up the race with 40 kilometers to go.
Del Toro launched shortly after, surging clear on the slopes of Castelletto d’Erro and never looking back. By the foot of the final climb, he had carved out a 30-second lead over Hirschi and Mollema, and a full minute over the chasing peloton.
UAE Goes 1–2 As Del Toro Makes It 15 Wins
Behind, Hirschi out-kicked Mollema to take second in the sprint, locking in a 1–2 finish for UAE Team Emirates, who have now racked up 92 wins this season. That includes 15 from Del Toro and 19 (and counting) from their talisman Tadej Pogacar — who will go for his 20th win of 2025 on Saturday at Il Lombardia.
It’s a scary time to race against UAE.
Del Toro’s win also puts him firmly in the spotlight ahead of Lombardia, where he’ll ride in support of Pogacar — but as Thursday proved, he’s more than capable of stealing the show himself.
