While the Stage 3 terrain suits the sprinters, weather may be the greater obstacle. Crosswinds are expected to affect the final 35 kilometers, adding uncertainty to team tactics and positioning.
If the winds don’t split the peloton, a bunch sprint is likely to decide the stage, offering key bonus seconds—10, 6, and 4—to the first three finishers. Riders like Jasper Philipsen and Biniam Girmay may see this as an early chance to make up time in the General Classification, currently led by Mathieu van der Poel.
The Tour last passed through Dunkirk in 2022, but hasn’t finished a stage there since 2001. Coverage of Stage 3 in Canada begins at 7 a.m. ET Monday and is streaming live on FloBikes and the FloSports app as well for for free on YouTube and Facebook.
