Girmay Vs Philipsen: Sprint Rivalry Tour 2025

The 2025 Tour de France rolls out Saturday, July 5 with Stage 1, a flat 185-kilometer loop beginning and ending in Lille, as two-time defending champion Tadej Pogačar begins his pursuit of a fourth career yellow jersey.

And it's all streaming live in Canada on FloBikes and the FloSports app.

This year’s race opens in the northern region of Hauts-de-France, offering an early chance for sprinters to showcase their form.

Pogačar, the reigning champion and clear general classification favorite, will aim to stay out of trouble and avoid time loss on the first day, while teams like Alpecin–Deceuninck and Lidl–Trek will set up their top sprinters for a possible stage win and the first yellow jersey of 2025.

The flat profile should ensure a high-speed finale with minimal elevation, ideal for a mass sprint. Riders and teams will be cautious in the opening kilometers, with early nerves and wind always a factor in northern France.
