Time is running out for the contenders at the Tour de France 2025 to make their move on overall leader and defending champion Tadej Pogacar, who is days away from claiming his fourth TDF title.

While the 26-year-old Slovenian didn't win the mountainous Stage 18 on Thursday, a late surge helped him finished second behind Australian Ben O'Connor and pick up another 11 seconds in the General Classification.

Stage 19 on Friday is the final mountain stage of the year and the beginning of the final push toward Paris and winning the GC, though many would consider Stage 18 the true big test of the week - and maybe even the entire TDF 2025.

To win Stage 18, the second of his career at the TDF and first since 2021, O'Connor rode solo for almost 16 kilometers and completed the climb of the famous Col de la Loze a minute and 45 seconds ahead of Pogacar.

O'Connor also is one of the few riders in history with stage wins at all three Grand Tours - Giro d'Italia (2020), Vuelta a España (2024) and Tour de France  (2021, 2024).

Finishing behind Pogacar in Stage 18 was two-time TDF winner Jonas Vingegaard, who is second in the GC rankings, but now is 4 minutes, 26 seconds back with only three stages remaining in the 2025 race.

Florian Lipowitz was able to hold onto third place and the white jersey for the best young rider, but he's now just 22 seconds ahead of Oscar Onley.

For viewers in Canada, FloBikes coverage of Stage 19 will begin at 7:20 a.m. Eastern and is expected to conclude around noon EDT.

Stage 19: Tour de France 2025

This is the final mountain stage for the Tour de France 2025, and it's another doozy. There are five categorized climbs - two HC, two Category 2 and a Category 1. It doesn't get much harder than that.

On July 24, the stage was modified to be shorter than the planned 129.9 kilometers because a diseased cattle along the route. The stage is now set of 95km.

At 129.9 kilometers, the stage was already planned to be the shortest non-ITT stage of the year. The route was supposed to include the ascent of the Col des Saisies, but that is where the cattle are located, so the route will bypass the area.

This will be the ninth visit to Albertville, where the day will begin, and the final climb will be the last real change of the race to make up any real ground.

Will things get shaken up? Will the top contenders break with the final kilometers of the 2025 race so close?

As always, 10, 6 and 4 bonus seconds will be awarded to the first three finishers.
