Tour de France 2025 Stage 15 Preview: A Hilly Stage And A Rest Day Ahead
Tour de France 2025 Stage 15 Preview: A Hilly Stage And A Rest Day Ahead
The 169.3-kilometer trek in Stage 15 of the Tour de France 2025 is the only thing standing between the riders and their second rest day of this year's race.

While Thymen Arensman saw a dream come true with his win in Stage 14 of the Tour de France 2025, the news of the day was the departure of Remco Evenepoel, who abandoned the race during the rainy and foggy 182.6-kilometer stage.
Evenepoel entered the day in third place overall and was wearing the white jersey as the best young rider, but the week's relentless climbs seemed to be too much for the 25-year-old Belgian, even with another rest day to look forward to after Stage 15 on Sunday.
With the day off on the horizon, perhaps the riders will have something nice to think about while tackling the 2,400 meters of elevation in Stage 15.

Stage 15 will be the next challenge in a series of mountain stages, broken up by a short, but challenging, individual time trial Friday. But it also sees them less than 170 kilometers from a day of recovery and relaxation.
Through 14 stages, defending champion Tadej Pogacar leads the General Classification by 4 minutes, 13 seconds over two-time TDF winner Jonas Vingegaard.
With Evenepoel abandoning, Florian Lipowitz moves into third place and takes the white jersey. He is 7 minutes, 53 seconds behind Pogacar in the GC standings.
In Saturday's ride from Pau to Superbagnères, Arensman launched multiple attacks and ended up riding solo for more than 30 kilometers, finishing 1 minute, 8 seconds ahead of Pogacar, while Vingegaard again was close behind.
For viewers in Canada, FloBikes coverage of Stage 15 will begin at 7:05 a.m. Eastern and is expected to conclude around 11:45 a.m. EDT.

Stage 15: Tour de France 2025
Even at 2,400 meters of elevation and sections with gradients above 10%, Stage 15 of the Tour de France 2025 may seem like a bit of a break compared to the 2-3 prior days of mountains and climbing.
Regardless, the riders can expect another test of versatility, while the diversity of the terrain across the 169.3-kilometer journey makes it hard to predict who will come out on top.
Let's explain.
Some stages easily favor one type of rider over another. Some are designed to result in a sprint finish.
While the final stretch of this stage favors the sprinters, the hills and climbs along the way will force them to keep up or lose the opportunity to log a stage win.
There definitely is the possibility for attacks and breakaways, and if the sprinters can't stay close, the winner can come from a breakaway.
Will someone have the strength and bravery to try and break free and steal this stage?
As always, 10, 6 and 4 bonus seconds will be awarded to the first three finishers.
The extra reward for everyone is a rest day before hitting the mountains again.
