Tour de France 2025 Stage 11 Preview

The first 10 days of the Tour de France 2025 certainly were memorable, with things being shaken up quite a bit in Stage 10, which fell on Bastille Day (national day of France). It also was the final stage before a well-earned rest day.

Stage 10 was the first mountain stage of the year and challenged the riders with eight categorized climbs and about 4,400 meters of climbing overall.

The stage was won by Simon Yates, the winner of the Giro d'Italia 2025, who rode away at the bottom of the final climb and finished nine seconds ahead of Thymen Arensman and 31 seconds in front of Ben Healy.

Healy's stellar ride may not have earned him his second win of this year's Tour de France, but it did help him erase a deficit of nearly four minutes and end the day in the coveted yellow leader's jersey.

The Irishman, who won Stage 6, now leads the General Classification by 29 seconds.

Defending TDF champion Tadej Pogacar is second and followed by Remco Evenepoel (1 minute, 29 seconds), Jonas Vingegaard (1 minutes, 46 seconds) and Matteo Jorgenson (2 minutes, 6 seconds).

The race will back in action Wednesday after the first of the year's two rest days, and riders will ease back into form with one of the shorter non-time trial days of the 2025 edition.

This one will be a loop around historic Toulouse with a strong possibility for the last sprint finish for a while.

For viewers in Canada, FloBikes coverage of Stage 11 will begin Wednesday at 7:05 a.m. Eastern and is expected to conclude around 11:40 a.m. EDT.

Stage 11: Tour de France 2025

Hopefully everyone enjoyed their rest day and a chance to take in everything the historic city of Toulouse has to offer.

But now, it's time to get back to business, which comes in the form of a 156.8-kilometer loop around the city. If the riders didn't see everything they wanted to in Toulouse, this will give them another few hours to enjoy the sights, though at a much faster pace.

Stage 11 of the Tour de France 2025 won't be the most challenging stage the riders will face, but there will be a little bit of elevation to get their bodies moving, including a 12.4% gradient in the final kilometers.

Once they're down the other side of that climb, there will be a flatter 6-kilometer run to the finish, where the expectation is for the last sprint opportunity they'll see for a while. The scenario was the same the last time the TDF stopped in Toulouse, which was 2019.

As always, 10, 6 and 4 bonus seconds will be awarded to the first three finishers.

Who Won Stage 11 Of The Tour de France In 2024?

Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard entered the Tour de France 2024 as the the two-time defending champion, but he spent most of the race in the shadow of Tadej Pogacar who won six stages on his way to a third overall title at the storied race.

Vingegaard finished second in his bid for the GC three-peat, but he did win one stage along the way, which was the 211-kilometer Stage 11 trek from Évaux-les-Bains to Le Lioran.

On the day, Vingegaard got the best of his rival Pogacar in a dash for the line and felt a sense of redemption that he still could perform at the top level after sustaining a series of serious injuries months earlier.

When the TDF 2024 wrapped after 21 stages, Pogacar won by more than six minutes.
