Tour de France 2025 Stage 9 Preview: One More For The Sprinters
Stage 9 of the TDF 2025 also should be one for the sprinters, and it will finish in Châteauroux, which saw Mark Cavendish win three times in his career.

After an agonizing runner-up stage finish earlier in the Tour de France 2025, Italy's Jonathan Milan finally was able to break through for his first victory on the biggest stage in cycling.
Milan timed his final surge perfectly, and Wout van Aert had no chance of catching him in the final meters of the Stage 8 sprint Saturday. Milan's earlier close call came in Stage 3, which was won by Tim Merlier.
Stage 9 of the TDF 2025 also should be one for the sprinters, and it will finish in Châteauroux, which saw Mark Cavendish raise his arms in glory three times in his memorable career.
The finish to this stage will be fast and flat, so riders and fans likely will be treated to another exciting bunch sprint for the win.

Stage 9: Tour de France 2025
This 174.1-kilometer journey from Chinon to Châteauroux is relatively flat and straightforward and should belong to the sprinters, wind and weather permitting along the way, while the final 5 kilometers will be wide and flat and primed for another fast finish.
Châteauroux is familiar to the Tour de France and to the fast men, as it has been the sight of three TDF stage wins for the legendary Mark Cavendish, who owns a race-record 35 stage victories. Three of those wins, including his first in 2008, came in Châteauroux.
With Cavendish out of the picture, which sprinter will step up and take the reigns and glory?
As always, 10, 6 and 4 bonus seconds will be awarded to the first three finishers.
