Tour de France 2025 Stage 8 Preview: Fast And Flat
Though Tadej Pogacar showed in Stage 7 of the TDF 2025 how well he can sprint, Saturday's flatter Stage 8 might be better suited for the pure sprinters.

Tadej Pogacar, the reigning world champion and defending champ at the Tour de France 2025, showed off his versatility again Friday in Stage 7 of the TDF, handling one of the most challenging climbs in the history of the race, before sprinting for the finish line and another stage victory.
The Mûr-de-Bretagne barely slowed down the Slovenian, who beat two-time Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard and Oscar Onley to the line at the end of the day's 197-kilometer journey.
The victory was the second of the 2025 race for Pogacar, who also won Stage 4, and it helped him reclaim the yellow leader's jersey from Mathieu van der Poel.

Stage 8: Tour de France 2025
Though the 171.4-kilometer ride from Saint-Méen-le-Grand to Laval in Stage 8 of the Tour de France 2025 does reach 1,400 meters of elevation, it's gradual and essentially a flat day for the caliber of riders in the TDF.
Both host cities for this stage have featured in the Tour de France before, and this year's Stage 8 finale should be another opportunity for the sprinters. The homestretch will be wide and straight, so expect high speeds and an aggressive fight for the line.
