We're back in the hills and a day removed from a flat 33-kilometer individual time trial.
It's the second-longest day of the year at 201.5 kilometers, offering a hilly ride from Bayeux to Vire Normandie.
Up-and-comer Kevin Vauquelin of France, who finished as the runner up at the Tour de Suisse 2025 in June, is from Bayeux and will be a crowd favorite. He won Stage 2 of the TDF 2024.
Stage 6 in 2025 is anything but flat like the Stage 5 time trial, with six total climbs - five Category 3 and a Category 4 - and approximately 3,500 meters of elevation, with parts of the day reaching 10-11%.
Even the finish will take some work, as the final climb comes at the finish. It's a steep 700-meter ramp at 10% gradient.
As always, 10, 6 and 4 bonus seconds will be awarded to the first three finishers.
