Thibaut Pinot To Retire At End Of Season
French rider Thibaut Pinot says he will retire from cycling at the end of the 2023 season.
French rider Thibaut Pinot on Thursday said he would retire from cycling at the end of the 2023 season.
The 32-year-old, whose career highlight so far was his victory in the 2018 Tour of Lombardy, told French sports daily L'Equipe he would quit the sport after that one-day classic in Italy in October.
Pinot will race the Giro d'Italia in May and hopes to also make a final appearance on the Tour de France, in which he finished third in 2014.
"The Tour was hard, but it was also the one race that gave me the most beautiful emotions," he told L'Equipe.
Pinot has spent all 13 years of his professional career with French team Groupama-FDJ.
